To support the diversification of the
overseas export market of Korean optical industry and expansion of the
industry, Korea Optical Industry Agency (KOIA) will hold export consultation
meeting on January 29 in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This is a post-event of the
joint exhibition in the show OPTI 2019 held on January 25 -27 in Munich,
Germany, which was one of 2018 projects funded by "Operation of Overseas
Market Development of the Regional Eyewear Industry."
In 2018, KOIA had arranged consultation
worth 2.5 million USD and signed contracts worth 500 thousand USD in OPTI and
export consultation in Poland, and it is anticipating for a great outcome in
the export consultation this time in the Netherlands as well.
The Netherlands is a country in Europe with
a population of 17.1 million and 18th in world GDP ranking, showing steady
growth in the eyewear industry with good awareness of the aging society,
digitization, and fashion trends.
The seven companies that are attending in
this consultation are JCS International, FANTOM OPTICAL, H2C Design, MIIM, SET,
SMART OPTICAL, and SI VISION. They consist of the companies and new brands that
represent the Daegu area where it is the base of Korea's glasses industry,
reflecting the latest trends in the Korean eyewear industry.
To develop and diversify the market, the
consultation in the Netherlands will be joined by major distributors, buyers,
and media, and one-on-one business matching and press pitching time will take
place to maximize the publicity effect.
JCS International first started as a specialized manufacturer of small precision molds in 2001. It has a history of supplying its injection molding to Samsung Electronics as the 1st supplier. JCS International entered the eyewear business in 2012 by supplying its ODM eyewear products to ZOFF in Japan. The company launched its own brand CLROTTE in 2016 to start high-value business.
Founded in 2001, FANTOM OPTICAL is a company that designs, manufactures, and distributes frames and sunglasses. There are two brands in FANTOM OPTICAL, a casual brand PLUME and a children brand LARVA. FANTOM OPTICAL makes lightweight frames that are comfortable to wear with high quality materials such as tr-90, ultem, and duralinium. Its major customers are in Japan, China, and Taiwan.
Since 2011, H2C Design has been manufacturing and exporting high-quality frames and sunglasses made of titanium, acetate, TR90, and stainless steel. H2C Design has its own factories for parts manufacturing and acetate processing to minimize production costs, all to give the best value to the customers. H2C Design also imports Windsor Rim from Aurochim in Italy, the maker of high-end metal glasses as the exclusive distributor in Korea.
MIIM is a specialized retail & wholesale company that distributes optical frames and sunglasses. In Korea, it carries brand names LIINTA and PLASTA NATURE, and also exports to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, and the U.S. MIIM is actively seeking entrance to the global market, especially to Eastern Europe. With premium quality and excellent service, MIIM is not just a seller of eyewear, but also the creator of new value by studying fashion trends and customer's needs.
SET was created in 2016 by J. H. Do, who has been developing creative design for 12 years with the motto, "I design to make my customers feel joyful and comfortable." With its brand name SETOLOGY, its glasses are made with special techniques like screwless hinges, dyurallumin processing, and magnesium processing. Its glasses are known for being lightweight, easy to wear, and having stable fit when worn.
The company was established in 1995, and it specializes in customized frames that are top quality, well-designed, and competitively priced. SMART OPTICAL is dedicated in giving the full satisfaction and is ready to provide the best service to the customers. Its overseas partner is Cascada Optic from Czech Republic.
Established in 1998, SI VISION is an eyewear export and import company. It mainly provides OEM and ODM services with its high-quality eyewear. Its frames are being sold all over the world.
