Korea International Beer Expo(KIBEX 2019) will be held from March 21st to 23rd at aT Center, Seoul. The exhibition will cover the value chain of the beer industry, including raw materials, equipment, and facilities, international beer, accessories, franchises, education, and services, which enables visitors to experience the A to Z of the beer industry in one place. The exhibition organized by the exhibition and convention specialist GMEG and the beer-specialized magazine Beer Post is expected to bring new vitality to the Korean beer industry in that it is an industrial fair where beer is the main item.
As consumers have begun to recognize the diversity of beer, the Korean craft beer market is showing high potential and is gaining attention in Asia. In 2018, the number of small beer breweries has increased by about 1.5 times over the previous year and exceeded 100, and it is on the rise.
Especially at a time when
expectations are high for realizing the Specific Tax of beer in 2019 and
detailed discussions are underway, there is a significance in that business
where domestic and foreign beer companies, ranging from raw materials to
various equipment, gather at a place. As the market is expected to expand and
change due to the conversion towards the Specific Tax in the future, active
exchanges are expected to take place between the industrial workers from
liquor, distribution, export and import business, and restaurant business,
creating numerous opportunities and possibilities.
The participation of various international companies is also notable. The exhibition will function as an international network platform through the participation of international beer companies from significant countries. Inotec from Romania, Tiantai from China in Drink Tech Area, Fermentis from France and Yakima Chief Hops from the USA, Castle Malting from Belgium in Raw Material Area will be joined in KIBEX. In addition, Brewers Association from USA and German Beer Export Forum will organize international pavilion, and the exhibition will be the international beer business platform where the 20% of total exhibitors are from overseas. From Korea, KMBIA (Korean Micro Brewery Importers Association) will be installing a special pavilion.
The international beer
conference will address interesting and important issues that make taking a
step ahead with the global beer trend and explore the future of the Korean
market. Speakers will talk about the characteristics of each raw material such
as hops, malt, yeast, and water, as well as brewing know-how and issue of
Specific Tax conversion issues.
Harper Hae-Jung Lee, the organizer of the exhibition said, "MICE, especially industrial exhibitions and international conferences, is one of the most essential marketing platforms that drives an industry." and also mentioned his vision, saying, "With launching in 2019, Korea International Beer Expo (KIBEX) will emerge as Asia's most international beer industry exhibition within three years through cooperation and exchange with international exhibitions."
