KOREA EXCON WEEK 2019 (Korea Exhibition & Convention Week), held at COEX on January 16 (Wed) to 17 (Thu) with the goal to expand the foundation of the Korea exhibition convention industry and strengthen the network among related industries, ended in success with 132 exhibitors and 2,000 participants.
This show was the first event to be hosted by the Association of Korea Exhibition Industry and four exhibition organizations, Exhibition Hall Operator Association, Exhibition Organizer Association, Exhibition Design and Installation Association, and Exhibition Service Industry Association. This led to a wide interest and participation from the industry, and the show was reviewed that it opened a new chapter in new business in the exhibition convention industry that is different from the previous one.
Fourteen expos including EXCO participated, and an orientation on "Suwon Messe" which is to be opened in Suwon Station Transit Center received tons of attention from the industry. Korea Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association, Korea's largest expo organizer and the global expo organizer Reed Exhibitions Korea met SMEs that are considering for exhibition, and Korea's major consumer show Mega Show took up more than 30 booths to run a special section with multiple exhibitors.
In addition, KOTRA, SBC, SEMS, and K-Biz took up the booths and served their roles as supporting institutions. Expo design and installation companies and service companies grabbed the attention from the visitors with their new and unique products and services, and their efforts paid off by actual consultations with big-scale companies.
Particularly, more than 200 pre-business matches were made, which made the exhibitors highly anticipated from the start, and the actual business meetings in the show sparked. Companies with the actual outcome were highly satisfied, saying that the show had changed for the better.
In the sub-event "Exhibition Marketing Seminar," a lecture on the topic "How to do well in foreign exhibitions" was given, and 170 people enrolled. This proved that there is a need for training on exhibition marketing, and the sub-event fulfilled the needs.
