Developed and serviced by Popjoy (Peter J. Kang, CEO), Cartoon Network Arena has successfully completed its soft launching tests - including matchmaking, balance and more - in Singapore, Malaysia, New Zealand, and Korea over the past 4 months. It proceeded on grand launching in major countries including Asia-Pacific and India on the 19th of October, 2018.
Released on Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and Korea One store simultaneously, Cartoon Network Arena supports 6 languages - not only English but also Korean, Japanese, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, and Vietnamese. Thai and Indonesian will be added in future updates.
Cartoon Network Arena is a mobile game in development - with a licensing contract with Turner, a subsidiary of WarnerMedia, for major animation IP use. Popular Cartoon Network's original animations - including Adventure Time, We Bare Bears, Powerpuff Girls, Ben 10, and Steven Universe - can all be found in the game. Characters from different fictional worlds appear altogether, offering a variety of fun and joy.
Using a total of 70 units (characters, buildings, and spells), players can create their own deck and battle other players around the world through real-time matching. This real-time strategy genre mobile game mainly features random PVP matching and unit balances. The player wins the battle by attacking the opponent's crystal tower or obtaining more tiles from the 15 neutral tiles in the center.
Unique contents like the main character's transformation, contents from Cartoon Network animations, Kingdom contents supporting communities, a solid storyline, and minigames within the casual game has gone viral. It resulted in more than 50,000 downloads within the first 10 days from the soft launching, raising expectations for the official release.
Cartoon Network Arena has been selected as one of Top 10 games from Google Indie Games Festival earlier this year, won the Mobile Star Festival, won the G-Rank Seoul Challenge Award and has been selected as the winner of Made in Korea 2018.
Popjoy, a mobile game developer established in July of 2013, collaborates with global IP with a vision to create a globalized mobile game. Online connectivity such as battle, cooperation, and community as well as user-experience based contents appear in online real-time multiplay games. Popjoy is planning to maximize the fun of these contents and develop services that directly communicate with the users.
