[MIK2018] Modoo & Modoo showcases Modoobell for users with weak social-communication skills
[ Dooyoung Shin 2018-08-31 ]

On August 23rd (Thurs), Modoo & Modoo showcased Modoobell, which was created for people with weak social-communication skills, at the MIK 2018 Conference & Networking Party, which was held in The K Hotel in Yangjae.

Modoobell introduced at the conference unlike traditional doorbells, where one has to respond directly, one can look at the screen connected through the app and know the visitors purpose. When one is in a situation where they cannot answer the doorbell, or is not in the house they can check the visitors face through the app through which they can video chat, message, and leave voice messages to deal with the visitors.

Also with the smart functions: It has the visit icon that lets the user know the visitors purpose fast and easily. It has respective message patterns to a given situation that allows easy response. If there are unwanted visitors such as a sales person then there is an automatic rejection response. For those with hearing problems or other disabilities that hinders them from hearing the doorbell, they can respond to the visitors through the app and even respond to them remotely.

The developer of Modoo & Modoo stated "Amongst my siblings my older sister and brother was born with deafness. So I grew up seeing how disabled people have trouble communicating with people around them in their everyday life." "Through the experiences I have gone through I have designed a system where not only people with disabilities, but also woman who has to respond to unspecified visitors can respond to the visitors safely and easily.

Furthermore "through the continuous stabilizing process we are planning on launching the product in 2019." "We will go beyond just Korea, and we will focus and try to match with foreign advanced welfare services, and to do so we will attend different kinds of exhibitions and further investigate what the overseas market is looking for and keep trying to globalize our product." stated the developer of Modoobell.

Established in 2017 Modoo & Modoo has been developing smart doorbells and other supportive equipment for people with communication problems, the company has been focusing on people with disabilities in hearing, disabilities in speech and children. Modoobell from Modoo & Modoo is made for people with communication disabilities who cannot hear the purpose or ask the visitors why they are visiting and solves that problem by letting the users respond while indoors and through different means of communication.

Meanwhile, this event was hosted by global news network 'Aving News', a media partner of 100 exhibitions ever year and of MWC and IFA, one of the world's top 3 IT/Tech/home appliances fair, and was jointly organized by Vietnam's state-owned media Vietnam Plus, fandom-based video platform SEESO, China's first IT portal YESKY, and influencer marketing platform ASIX.
