Natto is receiving limelight as it is effective for whitening skin and preventing osteoporosis, but it is easy to find people who resist to eat natto due to its own stickiness and smell. 'Kongmaeul', an agro-cultural product processing company, has recently released 100% Nattokinaje that is convenient to eat by improving the weaknesses of the existing Natto products. Receiving the support of Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, 'Kongmaul' has been recognized for its differentiated technology at home and abroad and recently started overseas exports. We organized our questions on the company and product in Q&As through an interview with CEO Eun-jeong Ra of Kongmaeul.

Q: Could you introduce about your company to us?
A: Kongmaeul is a company that processes and sells agro-fishery products produced in Korea.
Q: What is the product/service/solution/technology you are introducing to us?
A: 'Nattokinaje' does not have any additives as we make pills right after drying fermented beans. As a result, they are very good for large intestines or stomach as their enzyme reaches the intestine once they are eaten. Also, Nattokinaje is not sticky and smelly due to its shape so people who found natto uncomfortable to eat can consume it anytime, anywhere to take care of their health.
Q: How is it differentiated from other company products?
A: Kongmaeul's Nattokinaje' does not contain any other additives, so it has been drawing popularity among many consumers as a healthy and safe product.
Q: What are the specific achievements you've made so far?
A: We are spreading news that a consumer suffering from acne has experienced the effect of his skin improving by continuously consuming our products and that another consumer suffering from irritable colon syndrome has also improved after the products intake. Likewise, we've been consistently receiving positive responses from consumers and have recently exported our products to Vietnam. Starting with this, we are going to commit to business expansion into the overseas market.
Q: Are there any issues of partnership and investment you are discussing?
A: We have 7 ~ 8 varieties of products, as we have produced many new products as an R&D project with the help of universities and the Small and Medium Business Administration.
Q: What are your future plans?
A: We are currently planning to export our products to China and Vietnam and have already started first overseas export to Vietnam this year. We are currently discussing with Chinese buyers and will expand into China soon.
