Today, January 7, 2018 (in local time) is the second day of the Media Days event (Consumer Technology Show) of the world's best IT home appliance exhibition "CES 2018" in Las Vegas, USA.
On this day LG Electronics introduced its own AI brand, "ThinkQ" in the press conference. Utilizing ThinQ, home electronics can analyze the user's behaviors so as to learn on its own, and can interact with other products. For example, a car or refrigerator utilizing ThinkQ can communicate with each other to prepare food materials which the user needs in advance.
Its AI engine being "Deep ThinkQ", ThinQ was based on the technologies for voice recognition, video recognition, and deep learning. Pertinent cooperation with Google and Amazon is planned afterwards. Equipped with the LG panel, it can also control other manufacturer's products.
LG Electronics introduced various kinds of products to which ThinQ was applied. Especially, a TV product features its ability to control other surrounding home electronic appliances such as vacuums, lighting devices, air purifiers, air conditioners, etc. upon the user's voice command.
CES, the world's largest IT exhibition, is an exhibition of trends in the global consumer electronics industry, held annually in January by the American Consumer Technology Association (CTA).
