[BEST OF MIK CES] LetinAR's Augmented Reality Glasses and Lenses
[ Lee Eun Sil 2018-01-04 ]

LetinAR has been chosen in advance of the 'BEST OF MIK CES TOP10', scheduled to participate in 'CES 2018 (Consumer Technology Show)', the world's largest IT exhibition, that will take place in Las Vegas, the USA from 9th to 12th of January.

LetinAR is a company that invents optical lens for augmented reality. Founded in 2016, LetinAR has its own Fin-Mirror patent for augmented and virtual reality optics and owns all of its global patents for related source technologies.

LetinAR, Augmented Reality Optical Technology, has attracted a total of 800 million won in seed investment from Naver and Platinum investment and will introduce a new augmented reality solution that is very different from what already exists at CES 2018 in the USA.

LetinAR has independently developed the pin mirror technique that uses tiny reflectors to show images of virtual objects cleanly, even at close distances. Whereas other companies' augmented reality devices (HMD) stay on viewing virtual objects more than one meter away, the pin mirror lenses enable to control from a distance of 25cm before the user's eye by looking at virtual objects in a clear and transparent way.

The pin mirror lenses also offer a wide viewing angle of more than 70 ° and allow to express full colour without a colour difference. Kim said, "due to limitations of micro-display, the pin mirror lenses provide a resolution of 1280×720 resolution in both eyes for now. In the future, pin mirror lenses will be able to enjoy augmented reality comfortably without deterioration in quality even if high-resolution displays of 4K or more are launched."

LetinAR will also unveil augmented reality smart glass using pin mirror lenses. The new smart glass is designed to be similar to traditional glasses without the protruding parts of the lens and is very light in weight. Therefore, the user can enjoy various activities such as games, work, and sports without any burden.

At CES, the world's 100 languages will be translated in real time through a multi-language subtitles demo linked to Naver and Google, and users will be able to enhance their experience on real life by providing smart glass subtitles. It is expected to provide an augmented reality service in various real-life situations.

An official said, "We are going to provide display module products to help global companies create smart glass with the design and performance that consumers are pleased to see. We are also introducing products that can reach consumers through directly collaborate and develop together with large and small companies."

Meanwhile, "BEST OF MADE IN KOREA CES TOP10" selected only 10 companies among CES 2018 exhibitors by Aving News and foreign reporters such as the US and China considering the trend of the company, growth rate, and prospects. During the exhibition period, each media will select the TOP 3 through final screening and announce it officially on the last day of the exhibition.

CES, the world's largest IT exhibition, is an exhibition of trends in the global consumer electronics industry, held annually in January by the American Consumer Technology Association (CTA). Aving News reported the most issues of CES, MWC, and IFA, which are world's top three tech exhibitions, during last 11 years. It is sending special reporters to CES for this year as well; reporting major issues in the world market and introduce Korea's major companies all over the world.
