Tongmyong University participated in KORMARINE 2017 held At BEXCO in Busan from Tuesday, 24 October through Friday, October 27, and it disclosed Offshore Plant O&M Simulation Center.
O&M(Operation & Maintenance) industry is a high value added industry in respect of the steps subsequent to ship construction including transportation, installation, operation, maintenance, dismantlement, supporting and subsidiary works.
The O&M Simulation Center introduced this time at BEXCO is a part of the project to enhance global capability (e.g. for planning, interpretation, assessment, accumulation of experiences) of domestic small and medium sized offshore plant enterprises as well as mainstay ones, and to establish development of instrument pools, academic pools, and also to support technology upgrades and overseas market foundation by way of building up the base of cloud-based O&M engineering simulation technologies.
Base foundation project for cloud-based offshore plant O&M engineering simulation which demands much manpower in the future was designated in 2016 by Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy as a new project under Base Establishment Project for Industry Technology Development with total fund of 21.5 billion Won (Government fund: 10 billion Won, Si(municipal) and civil fund: 11.5 billion Won). It is scheduled to proceed for 5 years until 2020.
