The 84th TOKYO INTERNATIONAL Gift Show 2017)', will be held at Tokyo Big Sight from Sep 6th(Wed) to 8th(Fri), where international design and character animation trends were shown, with great number of prospective companies participants.
The booths for Korean companies to visit must at the Tokyo Gift Show are Art Licensing, Design Seol, Character Factory Mangchi, and Studio Chang.
Art licensing is a company that aims to generate profits by applying commercialization to various fields such as animation, art work, and webtoon. At the Tokyo Gift Show, it have introduced "PangAh", which symbolizes Bichon Frize as a flagship character.
The booth attracted the attention of exhibitors by attaching characters to various household items such as mobile phone cases, dolls, stationery, and bottles. The official of the company said, "The characters of PangAh, which symbolized the Bichon Prize, are likely to be popular among Japanese people, so I introduced it as a flagship character in this exhibition".
The Design Seul presented two versions of the original version of the character, 'Ddung', which has been loved by consumers, and a renewed version. In addition, it has applied the character to bags, aprons, cups and pouches, which are the consumers have familiar characters.
Officials of the company said, "I would like to see a partner who is able to advance 'Ddong', which has been loved by Korean consumers, to the Japanese market through this exhibition".
Character Factory Mangchi
The Character Factory Mangchi introduced the alien 'Ppio' who wants to get close to humans as a flagship character in this exhibition, and the rabbit alien 'PuoPuo' who fell on the earth because he is timid.
Officials of the company said, "The unique concept of an alien and a story composed of various seasons are likely to fit the Japanese market," and added, "I hope that this exhibition will help us to understand the Japanese character market and help us to develop into the market."
The Studio Chang introduced 'GoGo Band' as a flagship character, in which the combination of a character that shapes the jukebox and a colorful character is noticeable.
Officials of the company said, "We would like to introduce character products that can be used in various ways, ranging from mobile phone holders to dolls, to the Japanese market" and added, "We wish to meet an agency through this exhibition".
Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Content Agency (hereinafter referred to as KCA) announced that it will actively support local design, character animation companies' product and technology display and overseas market opening by running a joint exhibition at 2017 Tokyo Gift Show.
