K-ICT Smart Content Center hosted "2016 Smart Content & VR Day" and displayed some of the outstanding contents created by the companies under K-ICT Smart Content Center. It was held in Anyang Creative Economy Convergence Center on Jul. 13.
This event helped the visitors to devise futuristic and innovative business models and plan business strategies according to the fast changing VR industry. The visitors were able to see the potential of VR market and ways to connect this to their business with profitable business models.
Kim Young-mun, the manager of MSIP, came to this event to congratulate the successful launch and explained the purpose of having this event. Carl Lan, the director of content at HTC, also visited this event and gave a lecture on "VR Platform Strategy and Essential Content of HTC." HTC is one of the top companies along with Sony that are being most active on VR business among IT companies in Asia. It was a great chance for the visitors to listen to experiences of a company that invests heavily on VR business.
Joseph J. Ahn, the COO of 87870.com, lectured on "The Marketability of VR Content in China and Business Strategy." It was a valuable chance for people who want to start VR business in the biggest market in the world, China.
Kang Won-do, the manager of Samsung Electronics, talked about "Virtual Reality: The Future that Came to the Reality" and shared the world of VR from the eyes of a leading company in world IT industry. Jeon Jin-su, the team leader of SK Telecom, lectured on "The Innovation of Experience through VR and AR" and Jo Seon-young, the manager of Convergence Technology Institute at KT, gave a presentation on "The Value of VR as the Next-gen Platform." The lectures came mostly from the view of telecommunication companies.
Kim Jong-hwa, the CEO of Handmade Game Studio, gave a lecture on "Nudging VR in a Mischievous Way." Since VR is closely-knit with games, the convergence of VR and game drew a huge attention from the visitors.
