TCL®, one of the world's largest brands and the fastest growing TV brand in the U.S., today announced the introduction of a new series of QUHD products—the TCL X1—at the company's Press Day Event at the CES 2016 . The new line-up features Dolby Vision, the leading high-dynamic range (HDR) technology from Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE:DLB) for bright, vivid colors and contrast, as well as Quantum Dot technology for exceptional color resolution and clarity, and advanced Ultra HD 4K technology with a wider variety of content options.
TCL also announced its first 4K TCL Roku TVÔ models in the U.S., bringing its award-winning smart TVs to the 4K consumer. The new 4K TCL Roku TV models combine the latest in TV design with the RokuÒ OS to offer an exceptional 4K smart TV experience. In addition, TCL will be showing its leading 110'' 4K Ultra HD Curved TV, for which it was named a CES Innovation Award honoree.
TCL X1 Series: Combining the Best Picture and Sound Quality, Design and Function
The new X1 Series brings together the ultimate picture quality experience, premium audio performance and stylish design to create an upscale TV experience. Featuring QUHD High Dynamic Range Performance with Dolby Vision, the 65" X1 Series delivers wide color gamut for more realistic colors, brighter highlights and increased light-to-dark contrast. TCL X1 TVs are equipped with an Ultra High Definition (UHD) 4K display and TCL 4K Creative Pro up-scaling, so viewers can enjoy the latest 4K content with increased detail and realistic clarity. The TVs feature a color space powered by Quantum Dot technology and up to 1000 nits peak brightness for greater color resolution and clarity.
To deliver the latest in HDR technology, TCL has partnered with Dolby to integrate Dolby Vision, its transformative HDR and wide color gamut technology, into the X1 series. Dolby Vision HDR delivers images that are up to 40 times brighter than those that can be seen on today's standard TV sets, deep darks that provide a new level of richness and precision, as well as expanded contrast while still maintaining lifelike color and detail. TCL and Dolby are also partnering with major streaming service providers, including VUDU, to provide the new X1 Series with access to the latest 4K Ultra HD premium content mastered in Dolby Vision from leading studios.
"The new X1 Series combines the latest in TV technologies like HDR performance, 4K resolution and Quantum Dot display to bring the cinematic experience into the home," said Chris Larson, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, TCL North America. "This product line makes good on TCL's promise to deliver industry-leading technology, sleek design and robust content options, all at a great value."
