
Hosted by GyeongGi-Do and organized by KINTEX and KOTRA, the "7th K-BEAUTY EXPO 2015", the country's largest beauty fair, started today Sept. 17.
With about 40,000 domestic and international visitors annually, the "K-BEAUTY EXPO" is the largest fair that specializes in the beauty industry. The event has the most domestic beauty-related companies and domestic and international buyers. This year, 400 domestic companies, including spotlighted small but growing firms, that possess secret know-how of Korean stars' makeup and hair styles, participated.
At the expo, buyers from 130 companies from 30 countries are scheduled to take part in an export conference, including ALIBABA Group, China's largest e-commerce company; SASA Cosmetics, one of Hong Kong's top 10 cosmetics distributors; Peter Thomas Roth, a famous American luxury cosmetics brand whose products are often used at Hilton Hotels; and Groupe Rocher, a French beauty company that achieved sales of 2.1 billion euros last year.
In addition, foreign media from China, Indonesia, Singapore, and Vietnam are invited to attend the "K-BEAUTY EXPO 2015" Editor's Choice Awards. Through the media, selected companies will have an opportunity to promote their products in foreign countries.
Furthermore, at 2 p.m. on Sept. 17, merchandisers from major distributors participated in the "Product Development Academy", which gave an opportunity to share product development know-how. Also, at 1 p.m. on the same day, experts gave practical advice about advancing into the Chinese market through "Marketing Strategy Seminar for Entering Foreign Markets". The "K-BEAUTY EXPO 2015" also has various business programs that are customized for workers in the beauty field.
At 2 p.m. on Friday the 18th, "Advancement into China's Market and Chinese Friends Seminar -- Korean Products Matching Program with China Weisang" will be held. Companies with interest in the Chinese market are expected to join the seminar.
