[MWC 2016 Special] Notable Products: 'IoT'

AVING News selected ▲Daliworks’ “Thing+”, ▲X Engineering’s “SpendWallet”, ▲IdeaLink’s “SmartGolf”, ▲Alt-A’s “Safety Stick”, and ▲ Robotics’ “Safety Buoy” as notable mobile technologies and products that were showcased at “MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2016”, the world’s largest mobile exhibition, which ran for four days from Monday the 22nd to Thursday the 25th in February in Barcelona, Spain.

Daliworks’ 'Thing+'

Thing+ connects numerous IoT devices and users and processes large-scale data quickly and safely in real time. Unlike other companies’ products, the advantage of this product is that users can connect their IoT device to the Internet and immediately use the services. Users do not have to implement clients or make rules to use IoT services, and can use the service by utilizing a dashboard and rule engine. The IoT services can be had at a low cost. As they are based on Cloud infrastructures, such as AWS and Azure, they can be used globally. It is capable of being used as a private Cloud-based infrastructure depending on scale.

X Engineering’s ‘SpendWallet’

“SpendWallet” is a digital wallet that can consolidate all types of cards. It solves the problems of traditional wallets, which often lack storage and security. As it generates a magnetic field signal for payments, one can use it at any place where a magnetic strip card can be used.Users can save up to 20 cards on “SpendWallet”. They can select a card on display by using a touch button and make a payment. Furthermore, as there is a card holder for a business card or an identification card on the back of the product, it is expected to be an electronic wallet that can be a substitute for conventional wallets.

IdeaLink’s ‘SmartGolf’

SmartGolf, which was developed by IdeaLink, can systematically analyze one’s swing by using its 9-axis motion sensors, and users can record their swings by using the button on the grip. Furthermore, users can freely move while using the product, as the analyzed swing data is wirelessly transmitted to a smartphone application. In addition, the wood-style club head, which is made of metal, is equipped with a device that can recognize motion via sound and LED. Thus, users do not have to check their swing positions on a screen.The product analyzes the data transmitted from the club and visualizes users’ swings in the app, matching the players and their avatars’ positions. It analyzes one’s swing trajectory and compares it to an ideal swing, then shows the results on the screen. By using the information, it can help in improving one’s swing. It also provides the trajectory of a golf ball based on the collected swing data and by using golf physics.

Alt-A’s 'Safety Stick'

Alt-A showcased its “Safety Stick”, a new conceptual IoT product. It recognizes pedestrians via CCTVs and induces drivers to drive slowly by using LED flickering lights to prevent car accidents because of blind spots. It is only 5% of the price of an existing traffic light.

Robotics’ ' Safety Buoy'

This product recognizes emergency situations by using an installed buoy, and through a human body detection sensor and camera images. It sends warnings to a beach office in order to quickly dispatch a rescue team. This IoT device can prevent accidents and rescue people more efficiently.
