Mobilio Showcases Its Self-Driving RoboQ Series at SLUSH 2022: “We Hope to Improve the Productivity of Our Customers”

Mobilio Co.,Ltd. (CEO Jinsik Lee) participated in SLUSH 2022, an event for startups held in Helsinki, Finland from November 17 (Thursday) to 18 (Friday).

Mobilio is an AI-driven data analysis provider that offers robotics services based on autonomous driving and sensing analytics technology. The company is cooperating with various universities and overseas corporations and continues to invest in R&D and quality improvement.

At this year's exhibition, the company showcased its self-driving RoboQ series. BIG-EYES, the main seller of the RoboQ series, is a delivery robot designed to safely deliver food and goods using its LiDAR, camera and GPS sensor technology to offer a self-driving delivery service. The robot can avoid objects with pedestrian detection technology and stops in case of emergency to prevent collision. Its RFID security feature allows only the recipient to open the delivery box, and the robot's location can be tracked in real time through the app and on the web as well.

Other products in the series include the four-legged research and educational robot “JINDO” and the industrial robot “FireBot.” “JINDO” is mostly used in research facilities such as universities, while “FireBot” is an industrial robot that performs tasks in place of humans where repetitive tasks such as patrol and search are needed or in dangerous places such as fire sites

According to Mobilio, what sets its self-driving robots apart is remote control enabled by monitoring. The robots can exchange high-volume data such as real-time videos with the management system without delay or error with 5G. Thus, the robots can be remotely monitored in the control room, and they can also be located using GPS.

Another strength is the robots’ pedestrian detection technology that helps them detect and avoid obstacles and prevents collisions with passersby. By detecting nearby objects using their LiDAR and camera, the robots can avoid collisions, with the LiDAR covering the camera's blind spots and quickly stopping upon detecting objects to avoid collisions.

“We prioritize human safety before anything else based on our innovative self-driving technology, data technology, and global network. We hope to contribute to improving the productivity of our customers with our robotics software and user-friendly solutions,” a Mobilio employee said.

SLUSH is a renowned Northern European global startup exhibition, first held in 2008, where startups from all around the world meet major investors in Europe and Finland. The companies participating in SLUSH 2022 took part in promoting their companies by running the K-STARTUP Pavilion, the side event “K-STARTUP Demo Day,” and networking with professional investors using a matchmaking tool.
